Bunnahabhain Distillery
Bunnahabhain is almost the 'Secret Society' of Islay Whiskies. They produce an amazing range of 'sherry finished' whiskies (as well as the tradition Islay style peated drams).
It is definitely worth the drive up to this distillery, apart from the exceptionally warm welcome from the team, you will also see the second best view on Islay (In my opinion!)

Caol Ila Distillery
Caol Ila (pronounced Cull Eela) is on the North East Coast , along with Ardnahoe and Bunnahabhain.
n 1846, Glasgow distillery owner Hector Henderson picked a little bay on the Sound of Islay for his distillery site. He named it for the sound itself, using the Gaelic Caol Ila, and it was across this sound the little puffer ships made their round trips to the mainland – slowly helping to establish the distillery as the biggest on Islay.
Caol lla has recently reopened following a multi million pound re-vamp and is definitely worth a visit to experience a different type of whisky experience whilst sampling some of their classic drams and cocktails.
